On December 16, 2025, in Can Tho City, Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ACB) organized the conference “Agriculture and Seafood Industry: Solutions Amid Volatility”—an important forum bringing together economists, business leaders, and representatives from agriculture and seafood enterprises to analyze the economic and policy landscape and share practical solutions to help businesses adapt, overcome challenges, and achieve sustainable growth in 2026.
Mr. Mai Xuan Phong, Member of the Board of Directors and General Director of Vietnam Seaproducts Joint Stock Corporation (SEAPRODEX), participated as a key speaker at the event, offering practical insights from the perspective of a seafood enterprise amid market and policy fluctuations.

At the conference, Mr. Phong highlighted significant changes in the policy framework in 2025 and shared valuable lessons and experiences in seafood production and business operations. He noted that addressing policies that were perceived as inconsistent—“right in the morning, wrong at noon, and right again in the afternoon”—has helped create a more stable and transparent business environment, thereby reducing uncertainty for enterprises.

He also pointed out that Vietnam’s seafood industry is facing both major challenges and significant opportunities. While capital costs, exchange rate volatility, and trade barriers are increasing, domestic and export market demand remains promising if enterprises can effectively control raw material sources, diversify products, and deepen penetration into both domestic and international markets.

Through his presentation, Mr. Phong underscored the vital role of the business community in adapting to policies, strengthening risk management capacity, and proactively responding to changes in the global economic and trade environment—key themes emphasized by the conference.

The event was not only a strategic knowledge-sharing forum but also a valuable opportunity to connect enterprises, financial institutions, and experts, contributing to the promotion of a sustainable agriculture and seafood value chain in a period of volatility.
